DC Trace

DC Trace

SCOPE introduces DC Trace, the most advanced and user friendly DC Earth (Ground) Fault Locator. This portable instrument consisting of Signal Generator & Signal Receiver (DC TraceR) uses latest digital signal processing technology. It’s ability to detect earth faults in live DC system quickly & accurately in online condition greatly relieves the substation maintenance engineers from nightmare of earth leakages & it’s detection.

Its capability to detect the high resistance faults upto 1MΩ, helps to detect fault at incipient stage. Use of two current sensing clamps pinpoint fault quickly by eliminating interference. It is an excellent solution for preventive maintenance & troubleshooting of ground faults.

  • Ground fault location is carried out in online condition hence no disconnection of installation is required.
  • Signal Generator has adjustable output voltages (24V, 48V, 110V, 220V, 500V and 1000V) and auto adjustable output current (5mA or up to 30mA) suitable for different applications
  • pinpoints ground fault with high ground resistance (up to 1 MΩ)
  • Digital Signal Processing Technology for detecting grounding resistance and distributed capacitance
  • Adjustable output frequency (10Hz - default, 50Hz, 60Hz & 325Hz) and special filter circuit effectively avoid interference generated from DC system itself
  • Frequency Spectrum Analysis to test the existing interference available in the circuit and selection of correct test frequency
  • Signal Receiver with adjustable sensitivity at different locations of circuit helps to locate the current leakage quickly
  • Direction (positive or reverse) indication for leakage current helps quick pinpointing of the faulty grounding point
  • Following multiple analysis & indications of ground fault makes pinpointing easy:
    • Direction of current flow
    • Phase angle difference
    • Comparison of signal strength
  • Multiple Signal receivers (optional) can work simultaneously to find out the fault quickly
