| Real Time Circuit Breaker Monitoring System - RTmon CB 2.0 |
On line, permanently installed, real time monitoring system for continuous monitoring of critical performance parameters of CB under live switchyard environment first of its kind in country.
Depending on individually operated / gang operated mechanism of CB either 1 or 3 RTmon units will be mounted in cubical of CB poles. It will be recording transient performance characteristics critical for satisfactory operation of CB, whenever CB operates. Will store the results in local built-in non-volatile memory and further download it to central computer in control room, over non-contact type RF communication port.
|
|
|
The
central computer will have CIRmon monitor software managing the system of multiple RTmons mounted on various CBs in a substation & will facilitating the following:
|
| |
Viewing,
analysis and comparison of test data with
previous signatures or pre-set limits.
|
| |
Dynamic
calculations on graphical information with
cursor movement facilitating easy on-screen
analysis
|
| |
Each time the
new data is received the software compares
critical values with pre-set limits and emits
alarms, if limits are exceeded.
|
| |
Comparative
signature analysis forms an extremely powerful
tool for on-line condition monitoring that can
enable preventive maintenance that can be
carried out on CBs.
|
| |
Indication of
any abnormality in real time helps planning of
just in time diagnostic testing.
|
| |
In a substation
where many RTmons are installed, the CIRmon
stores the signature data in a structured
database to relate data to each CB / pole
monitored.
|
| |
It stores
data with signature identity including operation
type and date/time stamp
|
| |
Option to
export the signature database to corporate
server
|
|
|
The test system is set up to monitor the following parameters:
|
| |
Coil
Current One analog channel is provided to read
close / trip coil current. Healthiness of close
/ trip coils monitored
|
| |
Line /
Fault Current Three analog channels are
provided for three phases. Out put of clamp-on
CTs, which are mounted on secondary of
protection core of main CTs is connected to
these analog channels. This signal is sampled
during breaker operation. From this, RTmon
calculates line and fault current.
|
| |
Auxiliary
Contact Timings Two auxiliary contact sensing
channels are provided, one each for close &
trip. Time between start of coil current and
change over of auxiliary contact is measured.
These are field configurable as wet or dry.
Healthiness of Auxiliary contacts monitored.
|
|
|
The test system also calculated following parameters
|
| |
Main Contact Timings Projected main contact timings are calculated with reference to Auxiliary contact timings
|
| |
Arcing Time Using main contact timing and line / fault current signal the arcing time is calculated
|
| |
Clearing Time Time to actually clear the line / fault current is calculated
|
| |
Cumulative Fault Current I2*t with duration is calculated and stored (Z|2*t)
|
|
|
Following utilities make RTmon an ideal tool for on-line monitoring:
|
| |
Once installed, the results are continuously available No further set-ups, no manpower involvement
|
| |
Even when a series of re-closing operations are performed, the monitor transmits the operation signature faithfully
|
| |
The kit is compatible for safe and reliable usage under EMI environment found in Live Switchyards.
|
| |
Supplied with necessary accessories like clamp-on CTs, cables, mounting arrangements etc.
